Daylight Is an Observation, Not an Energy Total

Light in a room changes through the day.

A blank notebook, abstract home sketches and material samples; a fictional editorial illustration.

Understand the distinction

A bright-looking interior photograph captures one moment and viewpoint. It does not measure a household’s lighting consumption or establish how the space performs across seasons. Windows, shading and the actual use of rooms belong in the wider discussion.

Put it in your home notes

Observe the same room at several normal times without changing equipment. Note when artificial lighting is used and why. Bring these observations into a whole-home assessment where relevant; do not infer a savings percentage from the attractive appearance of a sunlit room.
