Understand the distinction

A home assessment can consider the building and its systems together. Your useful contribution is a clear account of recurring comfort concerns, existing records and the purpose of the visit. A list of questions is more helpful than demanding a predetermined technical answer.

Put it in your home notes

Ask what the assessment includes, what information is needed and how findings will be documented. Note limitations, access requirements and the assessor’s relevant qualifications. Keep the proposed scope in writing so you can understand which questions the resulting report actually addresses.
